Description
By the end of this course drivers will:
• Know which situations are the most dangerous, based on statistics and experience.
• Know the risks involved in driving in poor weather conditions and how to reduce those risks.
• Understand how driving style needs to be adjusted based on the type of road and the conditions of the traffic, and how to improve road safety.
• Improve your understanding of road signs, rules and highway code guidance.
• Have a better understanding of the role you play in reducing emissions and how to adopt safer and more fuel-efficient driving behaviours.
• Demonstrate knowledge of health and safety principles and legislation
• Identify what constitutes a hazard, risk, and accident in the workplace
• Describe the correct procedures to follow and the PPE to use
• Explain how to find information and raise concerns regarding health and safety and report accidents at work
• Explain the obligations and responsibilities of both employers and employees on and off site
• Show an understanding of the risk and route risk assessment process
• Demonstrate how to handle loads safely
• Explain the risks associated with water-bound hazards and identify other potential hazards.
