Description
Candidates will acquire/enhance their understanding of:
• the legal undertakings related to holding an Operator Licence, the consequences of non-compliance and the impact of this on both operator and driver
• EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations, GB Domestic Hours and the Road Transport (Working Time) Regulations
• the legal requirement to maintain records relating to driving and working time
• the importance of maintaining vehicles in a ‘fit and serviceable condition’, and the need to implement policies relating to road safety
• how to minimise the risk of clandestine entrants gaining access to vehicles
• the importance of implementing policies relating to road incidents and accidents
• the importance of providing driver education on topics such as drugs/alcohol and fitness to drive
• their responsibilities regarding the management of drivers
• Operator Compliance Risk Score (OCRS), FORS and Earned Recognition
